Motorcycle repair, in the garage it lives in

Motorcycle repair is worse than car repair for one dumb reason. Getting a bike that does not run to a shop needs a truck and two people.

A bike that will not start is harder to move than a car that will not start. That is the whole argument for doing it at home.

The most common call is the spring wake up. A bike that sat from November to April has a flat battery, old fuel and often a gummed carburetor or a sticky injector. All of that is garage work.

Brakes and tires are the other two. Both are quick jobs when somebody turns up with the right tools, and both are miserable when you try them on a kitchen floor with a socket set.
